The Book Club encourages 1st graders to read independently, promotes a love of reading and socializes with their peers.
The Mystery readers will come to visit and read a book to the club members.
Students do not need to be fully reading to participate in a book club - the focus is on engaging with books and joyful reading! Allow the students to connect books to their interests and create a comfortable reading space. Students find the “mystery” element thrilling and look forward to them visiting, which boosts their excitement about stories and reading.
