Chess Club Fall '25 Grades 1-5

The Yes For Chess class teaches problem-solving, builds confidence, and increases creativity through chess! Each week, our instructor leads an interactive lesson based on a progressive lesson plan, then students practice their skills in 1-2 fun chess games with their classmates. We are also starting the Knights & Rooks System! New students will start off as Knights, but returning students will be Rooks. After one session, Knights will promote into Rooks. Rooks will have the chance to play more advanced games (such as timed games) and compete with more advanced students. There will also be Chess Missions - simple take home activities that will reinforce what they are learning and keep parents in the loop. We are looking forward to a fun new session of chess!

Who: Students in Grades 1st through 5th. All skill levels welcome!
When: Tuesdays 3:00pm-4:00pm, first session on August 19th. Full schedule below.
Where: Vintage Hills School Library
