4th grade parents,
As a part of our music curriculum we teach the 4th grade classes how to play the song flute. The song flute is like a recorder, but is a different wind instrument. The students find that playing the song flute is fun and yields a great deal of satisfaction. Apart from that, the knowledge and discipline acquired is valuable; it can be applied to any other music activity. In fact, it can be applied to any other subject that requires dedication and concentration.
I am asking for donations to cover the cost of the song flutes.
Suggested donation is $10
You can donate a couple of ways:
· Include your donation here on Future Fund
· Pay by check of cash (put your donation in an envelope marked “Music” or “Ms. Fillips” on the front and have your child return it to the 4th grade teacher)
Instruments are the responsibility of the student. If the instrument is lost or damaged, the student will be required to pay for their replacement.
It is my hope that the study of the song flute will be an enriching experience for your student. The instrument will be kept at school in the music classroom to be ready for instruction and can be taken home at the end of the school year.
If you already have a song flute from an older sibling, please have your child bring it to school immediately in a large (gallon size) ziploc bag labeled with your student’s first and last name. This will help me plan appropriately for how many song flutes to order.
